Can you edits Flags? or other features to create a traffic light to appear on "Stories"

jeanine.wightman March 5, 2020

I'm looking for a way to identify stories that are at risk of missing deadlines, or are hitting roadblocks.

I would like it to appear with the title line, or like a flag, so its visible on the "Board" any Stories that are marked as Red, Yellow or Green? Is there a way to do this without adding a plug-in?

Hi @jeanine.wightman

You have the option to flag an issue from your board - to do this:

  1. Right-click an issue on the board
  2. Press "Add Flag" - which will add a flag and change the colour of the card

^ This flag option is not customizable - if you need more options, you'll need to consider an alternative - such as:

  • Custom Field: Add a "Select List (Single Choice)" field and call it Flag or RAG Status, giving the options as Red, Amber and Green. These won't be actual flags but you can visualise these on a board's issue card by editing the card layout via board settings.
  • Card Colours: In your board settings, select to set card colours based on queries - you could then set them based on due date (for example) - have a green strip of colour for issues over 7 days from the due date, amber for within 7 days and red for missed due date? Or these could be based on the field options from the idea above?

^ It just depends on what you need - but there are other alternatives.

It would really be helpful to be able to either have multiple flags with multilple colors to indicate different things or be able to configure the Card Color to  flood the whole card with color, or configure width and placement of the stripe.,  Kanban is done on paper with multiple colors of stickynotes or cards so the ability to have mulitple colors of cards is appropriate.  How do I make this a feature request?
