We just learned the Jira premium will have advanced road-mapping features. Our org is interested in this feature but only our PM team accounts need access. Is there a way to only assign premium accounts to certain users? We're currently using a 3rd-party road-mapping tool integrated with Jira but would love to just use Jira as a one-stop shop. We can't justify double the cost for all of our users for just roadmaps though.
Hi @[deleted] that isn't a possibility at this point
@Hernan Halabi - Elite IT Consulting Group Thanks for the quick response! It looks like we will continue using another roadmap tool.

Anytime, you will still have to pay for all your users anyway.

Yes, but not for double the price for 50+ users vs. roadmap tool account for 3 PMs.

Certainly not, just wanted to mention it in case you weren't aware

Hello Cindy,
Can you please share the other tool for PM's ?
We are in the same situation, only 20 users need advanced roadmap and the others 30 not, this increase a lot our billing.

Diego

Hi Diego, We're using Roadmunk as our road-mapping tool. It integrates with Jira if you want to link the info.
Hope that helps!

Is it now possible? or Is there a plan to make it happen?
This feature can beneift Atlassian a lot.
I love advance roadmap but even if I want to convince my management to move towards JIRA Premium, it becomes a hard sell and a straight no.
Atlassian can beneift a lot from allowing some of users to use Advance Roadmap because getting approval for a smaller team is easy, Once Management like the features, its easier to convince them for the whole organisation as benefits are visible.

Hi @[deleted]
as others on the thread have correctly answered, no you can't unfortunately. It can be a bit of a hard sell to justify the expense when it's a 50% uplift on the cost of licenses but when you compare the price of Roadmunk to get comparable features (2 way sync with Jira projects / Single sign-on / Roadmap view) you would need to buy a professional Roadmunk license ($99 per user per month) whereas if you have 60 Jira Software Standard users it would cost an extra $7 (per user per month) to upgrade to JSW Premium.
Having said that Roadmunk does look really nice, and if you're not after 2 way sync with Jira or SSO then it drops to $49 per user and I could see why that would be a better option for some. (actually they've carved out quite a nice little market position there - that's pretty cool)
Atlassian bought the precursor to Advanced Roadmaps and have invested heavily so it might be feature rich and cost prohibitive option for some but if you've got a company with 500 users the additional cost for Premium is actually $3.71 per user per month ($1,855). That would buy you 18 Roadmunk licenses. If it's good I would bet you'd soon go over that 18 users ;)

Hi, is this possible today. Can few users get premium account and not all?

Hi @Muntazir Mehdi (Monty) that would be a no. You can upgrade a product and not necessarily all of them. Jira software as premium but confluence as standard, nevertheless the upgrade applies to all licensed users for that product.

This is very frustrating. For an organization like our size - 500 ~ people, there are only a few of us using the Advanced Roadmap. And we will definitely not pay the additional cost for JIRA Premium for the entire organization just for that.
