Can custom fields from parent tasks be automatically replicated to subtasks in Jira Cloud?

There is a custom field in a parent task in Jira Cloud that I would like this field to be automatically replicated when I create a subtask. Is there a way to set this up in Jira Cloud? If so, how can I configure this?

Hello @Marilia 

This is straight forward rule. Steps are:

  • Trigger = Issue Created
  • If Condition = Issue Type = Sub-Task
  • Edit Issue => Choose field from drop down => when field opens up, select the 3 dots on right, choose "Copy From", in the drop down, select Parent.

Below is a screenshot for reference, notice the sections I have done to copy from parent.. please implement and share screenshot of the rule if stuck.
