CSV extract of project data

Is there a way to extract cvs files beyond just the "Export users" button on the Users Admin page? I would like to be able to extract a list of projects, who created or owns the projects, what users have access to the project, and when any items within the project where last updated.

Hello @Duffy Kingsolver

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

You can export information about issues from the Advanced Issue Search screen. Create a filter that selects the issues of interest, execute the search, then click the Export button in the upper right corner.

Among the fields available as part of the issue data export is the Updated field which will have the date/time the issue was last updated.

There are no built-in reports for

  • extract a list of projects,
  • who created or owns the projects,
  • what users have access to the project

You could use the REST API to get a list of all the projects that you have permission to see.

There have been many discussions about getting a list of users who have access to specific projects which you can find through an internet search with Google..

Thanks for insights. I think this will show detail at the issue level though, correct?

How do others go about auditing who is using what if these reports are not available anywhere? I'm trying to prep for a migration and wanting to clean out older unused projects and users before we move.

The output of the export from the Advanced Issue Search screen shows issue level data.

As to auditing before a migration, reviewing the Cloud Migration Guide I see a link in the Prep Phase section to another document about Clean up your server . Perhaps that will provide you with some guidance.

That's helpful. Thank you!

With the Better Excel Exporter app you can export your projects to a standard Excel spreadsheet like this:

It takes only one click. And it is possible to customize the template if you want to add further fields or remove some.

(Discl. it is a paid and supported app developed by our team.)
