I need to know how much time spent on a Jira Ticket by a user , by day. Normally it gives the totals only

Hi,

Using the build-in features, it is not possible to display total time spent on a task by a user. Maybe you can export issues to excel and develop a custom solution. If you are open to using an add-on, there are a lot of 3rd party apps that can do and similar grouping operations for you. I want to recommend our own app, WorklogPRO - Timesheets for Jira. It lets you filter, group worklogs according to your criteria. You can check list of all capabilities here. It is developed with Forge platform of Atlassian and for this reason, even as a vendor we don't have access to your data. It is cloud fortified too.

Hi @Nasir Shaikh

Using a plugin like ActivityTimeline can help automate the process. It helps provide an overview of tasks and resources allocated, as well as how long each task took (and whether it was completed within the budgeted hours/days). On the same Dashboard is a possibility for tracking time on the team and individual levels with a worklog indicators:

Managers can review and approve a logged time if needed. It can be useful for overtime hours, for example:

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to ask me. We can provide a demo session for you if need it.

Hi @Nasir Shaikh

Welcome to the community !!

As OOTB time tracking reports are limited, you can use Jira Rest APIs to pull this data. Or you can use a mktplace app to achieve the detailed reporting. If you are open for the same you can have a look at :

Worklogs Time Reports

The app allows to track time spent by resources with multiple filters / category / grouping features. Do try it out.
