Board Issue Detail View with insight custom field

Hi,

We have the use case that people would like to add a Custom Field which is based on Insight Data to the Issue Detail View of a Jira Board configuration.
I tried to configure it like that but wasn't able to see these kind of custom fields.
The screen and field configurations are already double checked, and the related Custom Field is already in use at multiple issues.

It is just about the Boards Issue Detail View.
In the documentation I couldn't find any information about this behaviour.

You can see the value of the field IF it has a value, in the objects section of the issue detail view, but you currently can't inline edit an assets field from the issue detail view :(

Same problem here @Gerhard Sulzberger (and @John Funk  the question was not how to create a custom field). Did you find a solution in the meantime?

Hi Gerhard,

You should be able to do this to create the custom field:

  1. Go to Settings > Issues > Custom Fields
  2. Click Create custom field
  3. Click on Advanced on the left hand side
  4. Click on Insight objects
  5. Give it a Name
  6. Click Create button

Then you should be able to configure it to map it to one or more Insight objects and add the field to the screen.
