Backticks eating inline code characters

Greetings all,

We are experiencing an issue with Jira editor when adding inline code to both comments and issues descriptions.

Typing a single backtick, followed by a snippet of code, then another backtick to wrap the code, we would expect the editor to render the code properly; instead, backticks are not translated, although they stay visible. Moreover, the first character will be removed from the text intended to be rendered as code.

See example below, where we typed backtick + const i = 0 + backtick.

Any idea on what's going on? Is this a bug, or? Is anyone else experiencing this?

I have the same problem. My workaround is using the hotkeys (Ctrl + Shift + M) to format code...
