Backlog used to display textual fixVersion, now it is a ship icon, can we revert to text somehow?

For us, it was really convenient to be able to see the fixVersion text in our board view. The recent UI updates represent this with a ship icon instead.

I know you can hover over the ship to see the text, however, this does not display in proximity to the ship icon on firefox, a box pops up in the top left hand corner of the browser (Firefox). Even if it does display in proximity it is less convenient to have to hover over each story.

Ideally, we'd just like to revert this behaviour to how it was before (no ship icon, just the fixVersion text).

Can you provide a screen image of what you see?

Either I don't have the same updates on my Jira instance, or I am not able to recreate what you are seeing.

You can see the actual fixVersion is being displayed at a different location to the hover, this happens with both Firefox and Safari browsers. Ideally, I don't want to have to hover, I would prefer to revert back to the old behaviour where the text is always shown inline.

I don't think this is browser specific. I was testing in a Chrome Incognito window.

In part it seems linked to the amount of "real estate" available in the browser window. At a particular resolution and browser window size that I initially had, I saw the phrase "2 versions" rather than the ship icon, and when I hovered over it I saw the version names in the same area.

When I shrank the browser window to the point where it showed the ship icon instead and then hovered over it, I had the same experience as you.

After that even if I expanded the browser window again the text showed in the upper left corner.

Since you are using a paid subscription plan I recommend that you raise this directly with Atlassian support in a support case:
