Automation - type of issue

I want to create a rule that when a specific issue type (a new and custom issue type that exists in my jira cloud) reaches a certain state (new and custom), a new issue is created in a specific project.
I can't find a way to do it among the existing templates.

Can anyone help me?

Thank you very much and best regards.

Hello @Gema Ruiz ,

You can achieve this by configuring an automation with these steps:

  • Trigger: When issue is transitioned
  • Condition: If issue is a certain type and target status is a certain type
  • Then -> New action: Create issue

Can you try and tell us your results ?

Kind regards,
Elyes

Hi @Gema Ruiz

In addition to the other answers provided...

Using automation rules requires learning and experimentation.  Often things we want to accomplish are not already defined in the templates provided by Atlassian.  Instead we can build on those rules or create new ones to meet our needs.

I encourage you to create a test project, and to try to create rules to help you learn.  To get you started on creating your rules, please refer to these documentation and example sources:

Kind regards,
Bill
