Automation for ticket cloning

Hello,

I am attempting to set up an automation for monthly tickets. I want to know if it is possible to remove a month string in a summary from the previous month and then add the current month back. Currently the month string looks like

{{issue.summary}} - {{now.format("MMM")}}

So for example it would look like "Work to be done - Apr" and if I wanted to clone this ticket for the next month it would look like "Work to be done - Apr - May"

Is there a way to remove a previous month string from the format?

Hi there!

Assuming that you will always use the format with " - " in the middle, this should work:

{{issue.summary.substringBeforeLast("-")}}- {{now.format("MMM")}}

You're taking the entire summary up to the "-" (including the space, that's why there's no space here after the closing "}"), then you add the current month.

Hope this helps!

Jeroen

Thanks Jeroen, it did help thank you!
