Automation for linked issues

Hi there,

I have automation that is triggered when the Issue is linked, I am checking the link type and issue type and then copying some data from the "Parent" issue into the "Child" issue.

This works properly if linking happens in "parent" but when linking is made from "child" this automation will not copy data since I am checking that issue type.

How can I make this work from both ways and ensure data will copy only if the parent issue type is "X" and the child issue type is "Y"?

Hi @jan_ambroz

For a question like this, please post an image of your complete automation rule, images of any relevant actions / conditions / branches, an image of the audit log details showing the rule execution, and explain what is not working as expected.  Those will provide context for the community to offer ideas.  Thanks!

Until we see those...

Try using if/else conditions on the issue type, and then processing based on that type (e.g., the parent or the child type).

Kind regards,
Bill
