Automation for jira cloud - Version released email : Can I add issues list in the email?

Anais ATIENZA April 29, 2020

Hello,

I use the app "Automation for jira cloud".

I have configured an automatic email when a version is released. I have added the version name and description. I have tried many things to add also the list of ticket's version but it doesn't work.

Can you help me please ?

Hi @Anais ATIENZA

Great to hear you're using automation! We're currently working on a new feature that will allow you to include a list of issues. You can follow the public ticket here: https://codebarrel.atlassian.net/browse/AUT-888 . We're hoping to ship something in the next few weeks so keep your eyes out for a new action called "lookup issues".

Thanks,
John

@Anais ATIENZA @Diego Cantor @Simon Barnes

The look up issues action has been shipped. You can read a summary in the docs on how to use it. We'll have some more guides coming soon :)

Thanks,

John

@Alejandro Ramos is `lookupIssues` here inferred from the fix version above? How does this know to loop on the subtasks that are below the release?

I am trying to do this also, and process as a single mail instead of X amount of emails on the release.

It appears before Jira integrated Automation it had more features. The "More Options" doesn't appear anymore in Jira Cloud

Hi @Simon Barnes ,

This example is from our server app (you can see the Jira server sidebar in one of the screenshots), it is still available like this for server customers. It will be coming to cloud as a new action soon :)

Thanks for the speedy response! I assumed it was when automation was a plugin of it's own.

Do you have a rough release date as I don't want to purchase a third party piece of software when you'll soon be able to do what I want.

I see the task is in progress.

Hey @Hitesh.Kumar

If it helps, do look at the free version of our app 'Automated release notes for Jira'.
It should get you the desired outcome without much of a hassle.

Best,
Anand

Hi @Hitesh.Kumar ,

No sorry we don't have any third party components in our Cloud product.

You can use the look up issues to find a list of issues and insert that list into an email using the smart value. You could also style the email using HTML.

I'll pass this on to the team as feedback.

Thanks,

John
