Atlassian Application Plug-In Recommendations for Jira Test Management Integration

Edited

Greetings Atlassian Community!

Can anyone recommend a Jira application plug-in they are using for testing repository/test management integration?  Our QA team wants to use Jira as a testing repository to store 1,000+ test scenarios, label test results with a Pass or Fail indicators, and perform basic reporting (e.g., X number of test cases Passed vs. Failed, etc.)

Please let me know what Atlassian application plug ins for QA testing have worked well for you.

Much appreciated!

Josette

Hi @Josette Contreras

You can try AIO Tests - Test Management for Jira.

It's a very intuitive app with zero setup time and supports the entire testing lifecycle.

Here is a list of the key features

  • easy creation and import of test cases
  • linking to Requirements (Jira stories)
  • organizing in Folders and Sets
  • efficient execution with analytical view of multiple test executions
  • easy recording of run defects and artifacts
  • inbuilt traceability and execution reports
  • Integration with numerous Automation Frameworks (Cucumber, JUnit, NUnit, TestNG, Postman, etc.)
  • Cypress and Katalon Studio integrations
  • Jenkins plugin

Here is a link to our documentation -

Hello @Josette Contreras

I am Ewa and I am a Customer care specialist at SolDevelo. I would like to wholeheartedly recommend you our app QAlity Plus - Test Management for Jira.

  • Test Cases created with our app are Jira issues with the QAlity Test issue type. This means, that you can use all Jira issues features and fields to label and group your tests. Here is a guide on how you can organise tests with QAlity Plus.

  • QAlity Plus tracks the execution history of each Test Cases. Not only, you can create a report and compare your testing results, but also, you can see it during the execution. So, that you can easily check if a bug or error appeared before, while performing this test.

  • As it goes for the reports, we offer Test Executions reports, where you can view the summary of all executions in a table or Status chart which shows you the summary of test executions statuses or assignee chart which shows you the number of tests done.

  • Traceability report, which allows you to track the bugs found with specific Test Cases during the selected period.

Hope you like it! If you are interested, I'll be happy to meet with you and showcase our app for you. Please feel free to click here and book a demo.

Thank you - I will take a look!

@Ewa Grabowska_SolDevelo_ Can you advise on a way to control a test case status (pass/fail) from an external entity - say Postman? Is there API supporting such action?

Hi @Josette Contreras

Hope you’re doing well.

Feel free to check out the Atlassian Marketplace for a list of Test Management and QA tools

I’ve personally seen a lot of recommendations here for Zephyr Squad - Test Management for Jira.  (with just over 26000 installs)

I’m sure other community members will share their experiences and recommendations too!

Good luck on your search
