Associating a workflow with a new project

Angela June 10, 2022

Hi All - I created a new project and want to assign it a specific workflow but cannot get to those details.

I found this question was asked in 2019 but it looks to be out of date by now (HERE).

@Angela , Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Are you using project Team-Managed or Company-Managed?

Because , if you´re using Company-Managed project, the step by step published on link that you shared it´s functional still.

Go to Project Settings > Go to Workflows > Click on "Add workflow" > Look for your workflow and select > select the issuetype where your workflow will be used > Clique on "Finish" and "Publish".

This step by step works to Company Managed Projects.

Can you confirm what template you´re using in your project? (team managed or company managed)

Hi @Angela ! Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

If you created a Team-managed project (the article you linked called them next-gen projects), you cannot assign specific workflows to it.  Assigning workflows through the use of workflow schemes can only be done on company-managed projects.
