Any workaround to setup different default assignees for the specific component in different releases

In one Jira project, we'll have several ongoing releases. And for the specific component, we'll have mutiple developers mapping to that component. So I wonder whether I can configure different default assignees for the specific component in different releases. Appreciate your support!

i.e. I have one component as "Login", and there're two ongoing releases: release A and release B.

Whether I can:

configure Tom as default assignee to "Login" for release A;

configure Jerry as default assignee to "Login" for release B.

Hi @lingyun_yao ,

You may try to achieve this with some automation rules.

Here is some sample scenario based on your description:

I hope I helped you.

Thx! Magdalena

Since I'll have multiple ongoing releases, so the first condition should be dropped.

I understand your automation script, which should have Jira super administrator, otherwise we can't achieve this.

Since we'll have multiple ongoing releases(~5) and multiple (~10), which might be a couple of dynamic scripts.

Do you have any recommendations if I only have Jira project administrator? Thanks!

Hi @lingyun_yao ,

As a project administrator you should be able to go to Project settings -> Automation and try to create a rule for that particular project only.

What's the Jira version you're referring to?

Looks Jira v8.13.11 not support it so far.

Sorry, I Thought you are in cloud version.

For the server permissions, probably you should contact your Jira Admins as they should enable this option. Here is the doc I found about it.

Thx! will check with our Jira admin to grant the access.

Let me make it as accepted solution.
