Add the label of a parent issue type "Initiative" to all child issues: Epics->Tasks->Sub-tasks.

All issues and child issues associated to an initiative should have the same label. IT1Q2024. I would like to be able to automate the labeling of all child issues.  At this time I have to create a specific automation for each new label.  IT1Q2024, IT2Q2024, ...etc. It would be more beneficial to have the automation take the label from the current parent: "Initiative" and apply it to all the child issues.

Here is my current automation:

The edit just updates the resulting issues found in the JQL with "IT4Q2023".  I have tried using issue.labels smart value in the edit and it just blanks out all the child issues labels.  Please assist.  TIA!

Hello @Sean_Braly

In the Edit action if you click the ... next to the Labels value entry field you should see an option to COPY.

If you select that the field will change to the following. Click on the field where the text is displayed.

When you click in the field you'll get another popup that lets you select from where you want to copy the values. You could select Trigger Issue here.
