I have created a project board to share with my stakeholders, my team creates JIRA tickets and fills out comments and logs work hours there but I don't want them to have to do that in the tickets and then got to the project board as well, is there a way i can have this information automatically move to the the project?

Hi @Brandon Chaisson and welcome to the Community!

Everything you do in Jira happens on issues. Create an issue, edit its details, add comments, log work: it all is linked to one and the same issue.

So no, there is no way you can move this information to the project, as it does not exist there. The total number of hours worked on a (Jira) project is the sum of all hours worked on the issues inside that project.

Many customers add a time tracking / reporting app to their Jira instance to enhance the time tracking and reporting capabilities. Others create a specific project issue type and create issues of that type to represent the actual projects their teams are running. They then use that issue to log work against the project in a single place and optionally also keep status indicators there.

Whatever works for you and whatever option you choose, your users will always have to log their work against Jira issues.

Hope this helps!
