Hello,
I have been using the board for tickets that are organized in the board I'm using. I now receive this message when opening my board: (I only have a few issues I'm currently watching)
There are 4 columns, I tried putting a max number of 25 in each column to limit what might be loading. Nothing changed, the message still appeared.
These are the filters I have configured:
As you can see, I have it filtered to my "watched" issues in the first photo. I have only 4 or so issues that I'm watching/assigned to. Can someone explain what has changed or if this is a bug?
Thank you!
Hi @Lauryn Ortlieb , welcome to the community.
the first thing to be aware of is that what you are watching really has nothing to do with the number of issues on a kanban board. Rather the issues shown on the kanban board are driven by the underlying filter. What catches my eye in your screenshot is the 999+ issues in the done column. Ultimately issues in the done column should age off. Could you share a screenshot of the general page under your board configurations? I want to see the filter and sub filter that you have configured for the board. oh, and one last thing the limits that you placed on a column, do nothing more than provide a visual indicator when you've exceeded that limit. It will not limit the number of issues actually in the column.
Thanks so much Jack, none of the filters have changed and there has always been 999+ in that column (thought this number was just an unfiltered number), but I would see issues over two weeks old which I wasn't sure why. Here are my settings:

Hi @Lauryn Ortlieb ,
the filter looks fine and you do have it set to hide after 2 weeks of being completed. Note that if an issue in the Done status is later updated in any manner it will then reappear on the screen. I wonder if someone performed a bulk edit on done issues.

You might change to hide after 1 week as a test.

I changed it to a week and didn't change anything. Taking a deeper look into my filter, it looks like 'watchers' is what I want it filtered to but it's not an option. It's totally possible there was a bulk update on tickets. Is this a permission that can be changed on our end or a jira limitation on ticket types?

I basically want to see anything I'm watching regardless of who it's assigned to, if that's possible.

Hi All, thanks for this information. I ran into the same problem and put a sub filter of this: resolved = EMPTY OR resolved >= startOfDay(-28)
Regarding the comment that @Jack Brickey stated: "the filter looks fine and you do have it set to hide after 2 weeks of being completed. Note that if an issue in the Done status is later updated in any manner it will then reappear on the screen"
Do you know why this is set up this way? It seems like it would be a defect that should be reported to me especially if the resolution date is set. We have been doing numerous workflow cleanups to standardize our boards & projects and this is why the issue appeared for us (~100 developers, ~40 different project boards for application management).

The column limit or quick filters don't limit on what is visible on the board.
As @Jack Brickey describes the main board filter is the item that decides what is visible on the board.
The board is to be setup in your way to represent all the found issues on the board and able to filter these.
The general tab of the board config holds the main filter an also the option on how long to visualize "Done" items on the board.

That makes sense, thank you Marc. My guess it is needs a new filter for the board.
