I need to update a field for tickets that were resolved or closed a while ago, but I don’t want them to appear as if they’ve been updated or resolved recently.

Hi @Selvakumar, Shrinidhi if you're not updating the issue resolution than the resolved date shouldn't change. Updating any field on the issue will change the updated date though, that's unavoidable to my knowledge.
I need to update the resolution field, without altering the resolved/updated date. Any ideas please

Like I said, what you're trying to do is not possible. Any update to an issue will change the updated date, and updating the resolution will change the resolved date.
