Modify the existing JIRA Service project from another project

Arnis Riškovs May 7, 2022

Hi,

The goal is to modify existing JIRA Service project. Take over issue types, request types and workflows from another JIRA Service project.

What is the recommended sequence of actions (road map)?

Go to administrate the current project, and tell it to use the same workflow and issue type schemes that the project you are trying to copy is using.  You'll need to manually set up the request types, copying them from the source project.

Hi Arnis:

Another idea in addition to what @Nic Brough -Adaptavist- suggested is to work with other project leads and your system mgmt to generate a common standard template for JSM projects by creating issue types, workflows, fields, screens configuration schemes.

Afterward, then you will then manually setup the request types and request form configurations.

Once it is done, then your can benefit at a system level to implement the standards across all of your JSM projects.  NOTE - This will take times with proper coordinations.
