Hi, my team's 'open' status has been removed from our jira board. Can you please cadvise how we can get the data back as there are tasks that were created that are now missing.

Can you please confirm for us the type of project that holds the data for the board? You can get that information by going to the Projects menu and selecting the View All Projects option. Then find your project in the list and relay to us what it says in the Type column for the project.
Have you used the issue searching functionality to confirm that the issues still exist and are still in the "open" status?
Are you an administrator for the project or the board? Can you click on the button labeled with 3 dots in the upper right corner above the board and select Configure Board? Depending on the type of project and board, that may either immediately display a screen that shows your board columns with the statuses that are mapped to each, or you may see a list of navigation options and be required to click the Columns option to display that screen. Confirm that the "open" status is shown on that screen and mapped to one of the board columns. If the status is in the "Unmapped statuses" area, it needs to be dragged to one of the columns to make the issues appear on the board.
The project is a Team-managed business.

You can either go to the List view to see all issues in the project or you can go to the Filters menu, select View All Issues, and execute a search for all issues in the project. Those are two methods you can use to review the project issues and confirm that some exist in the "open" status.
Is there a column on your board titled "open"? In a Team Managed Business project there will be a column for each status in the workflow. If there is no column labeled "open" then the status may have been removed from the workflow. Or your project may have more than one workflow. Such a project's board can display columns for only one workflow at a time.
