I'm trying to set up and test a JSM project for bug reporting for our company.
When I send a reply to customer on a test issue I've created the reply appears in the portal, but no email notifications are being received by the customer / reporter.
I have tested this as the reporter with both my work email, which is the same email I'm a Jira admin with, I've also included a +1 to make it a different email, and I have tested this with my personal email address, which is different than my Jira login email address.

Is there something else I have to do to make it so the reporter receives an email notification when we reply to customer?

Do you receive any email notifications at all from the Jira instance for any other activities?
Go to Project Settings > Customer Notifications and confirm that notifications are enabled for Public Comment Added .
