Kind of digging the top menu layout, dashboard, list, board, calendar, timeline of Work Management and wish my agents in ITSM had some better layouts and logical, easy to understand navigation.
Anyone know if Service and Software will follow suit or some timeline plugins?
Or if there’s a good way to duplicate ITSM tasks into WM and sync back and forth and comments?
Hi Dee,
Not sure that there are plans to incorporate the UI from JWM to all of the other products. Atlassian tends to keep the products separate based on their function. I, too, wish we could have almost a buffet of features to pick from for each product. Maybe that will come one day.
In the interim, yes, you can create Automation rules that will clone JSM issues into JWM (or create JWM issues directly) and link the two issues together. Then you can post comments from one to the other and vice versa. And even transition to other statuses based on the linked issue transitioning.
I have done that in some projects just to take advantage of the JWM features. Most people would view that as a little clunky and unnecessary, but I tend to be more about functionality and meeting customer/user needs.
Hope that helps a little.
I think the strangest thing about JSM is there is no Boards View without going to Work > Boards.
It’s all very disjointed and should be part of the flow in the navigation without having to navigate through the whole top level menu or creating a quick link.
Especially since Kanban boards are a great way to push through service support requests that require quick resolutions. As they come in with necessarily being a due date.

The thought is that help desks wouldn't need a Kanban board - they would just operate off of a queue. So that's one of the differences in the tools.
Also, you can create a board for a JSM project if you like. I think you were alluding to that. But here is an article that helps guide you on that if interested. It talks about creating a second board, but it would really be a first board for a JSM project. The same process and caveats apply.

Hi @Guy Renko
another thing to consider is that many of the new view and capabilities in JWM are also available for other project types (such as Jira Software projects) through the Atlassian Marketplace. E.g., this app seems like a good fit for a calendar view, and I myself work on an app that many customers use successfully as an alternative or extension to the list view: JXL for Jira.
I understand that apps may mean additional administration effort and costs, but depending on your use cases, this may well be worth it.
Best,
Hannes

Just came across this old post. Who would have thunk it? JWM and JS are not just one product.
I was initially exited but realizing on the free plans, now I can't have different users on JWM than on JS.
