Hi Team!
My organization and I are looking for ways to restrict access to one of our Jira Service Management Cloud service channels so that only customers who have Jira accounts can access it.
Does anyone know if this is possible or have you seen something similar?
Thank you in advance for your help!
Yes, that is possible. It all depends on who you give access to your project. So you could just give access to the group that also gives your customers access to Jira.
Could you explain this alternative to me better? We have a portal that can be opened and another that only users who have a Jira account can access
Thanks!
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
As @Rodney D_Souza mentioned you can either set the project to be open or restricted, and this controls who can submit requests to this project by email, widget, or the portal. If you set the customer permissions to restricted you can manage the access by going to Project settings > People and the users that are listed as having the role Service Desk Customers will have access to your project.

Hi Team!
I was able to restrict one of the portals, in project settings > people, by adding a group of users and assigning them the Service Desk Customers permission.
Therefore, customers who are not part of this group and who do not have this permission will not be able to access the other portal :)
Thanks for your help @Mikael Sandberg and @Rodney D_Souza

How about adding "jira-software-users" as the only people with a Project role of 'Service Desk Customer' under the 'People' section of your project settings?
Of course, your JSM portal should also be set to restricted, not open.

Could you explain this solution better to me? Would I have to invite users again after restricting access to the portal?
Thanks!

Each portal (project) can be set individually to either be open, or restricted. So, you can leave your open project as-is, just modify the other one.

Right! but would I need to add the users back to the portal after the restriction? Isn't there a way to restrict it to only users who don't have a Jira account?

Yes, that is possible, it all depends on who you give access to your project. So you could limit you project customer to only be the group that also have access to Jira.
