The JSM project I created and the confluence space are linked, the articles show when you make a related search, what I was wondering if it's possible to pin certain articles directly in the help portal with important information like a wiki of sorts.

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
When linking a Confluence space to a Service Management project, customers will be able to find articles when using the search box or while filling the Summary field on the request form.
It’s also possible to organize these articles into categories, so customers can view all articles with no need to search for them.
You can configure categories on each project by clicking on Knowledge base > New category.
This is how customers will see the categories in the portal:
