We use a custom email account, rather than the default Atalassian Email account. We identify emails that failed, due to problems with the connector. This are emails for a new issue as well as customer comments. How can I recover these emails in the system?
If it is a custom email then you should be able to log into the mailbox and find the email. I do this with our Outlook server from time to time.

Try marking as unread. I assume you will have corrected the issue that resulted in a failure previously.

Yes we have fixed the issue with the email handler, but mark as unread doesn't work
