Hi,
Short version: I would like to create a rule that prevents the same person that has created an issue (requests that requires an approval) from being able to perform the approval themselves. But I only want the rule to apply to some certain organisations.
Longer version + Example: Sally and Matt belong to the organisation named G456. There is already a rule that requires an approval every time one of them creates an issue, and they're all part of the approver group. So they got permission to perform it.
However, they are also able to approve their own requests.
When Sally creates a request, she can immediately click the 'Approve' button to make her issue transition to the next step.
According the organisation's directions, somebody who IS NOT Sally must be the one to approve the request she have created. There wouldn't be a problem for Sally to perform the approval if Matt had been the one who created the issue though.
Another organisation, F123, got the same transition rule as G456. Whenever somebody from their organisation creates an issue that requires an approval, somebody must approve it. They want everybody in the approver group to be able to click the button, no matter if they're the reporter or not.
How can I create a rule that prevent the users in G456 to approve their own requests without affecting the ones in F123?
Hi @Sol Adm_ Åkerfeldt ,
Welcome to the Atlassian Community.
In the configuration of the approval step ni the workflow, you can indicate which users are excluded from approval. This can be the reporter, or the assignee.
If you want multiple approval methods, you will either need to:
