How to make a jira form only accessible by URL

Evert Morren Atlas Admin January 30, 2024

We have several project in our site and on the portal. Now we have one new project, in the project we have made a form, accessible by a URL. This works fine, but if someone access the form, he has also access to all the projects on the portal.

Is it possible to give the users only access to the URL, without access to the whole portal?

As the link you can create still points to your Atlassian site, I would assume that you can only prevent users to do so, if you don't generally allow users with access to your site to access your portals.

Do you manage the customers of your JSM projects manually or are the portals just open to all site customers?

Dear Richard, The portals are open to all site customers. If customers go to the specific form URL, they have the option to go to the main portal site and have access to all the projects on the portal, see attachment . Is it possible to restrict the access to the main portal?

Following the current scheme, no.

Only alternative would be to change the customer permissions in your global permissions and NOT to allow everyone on the site to access the portal. Then you would have to sort the users out in the JSM projects manually and should get a group of users that are allowed to access the link, but not allowed to create requests.

I wouldn't recommend this way, though. As it highly increases the administrative effort in the future.

Hi Richard, I agree, this is a lot of administrative work.

Thanks for answering.
