How to have a Jira ticket assignee approve their own ticket ( compliance approval)

Hello, I need to have a ticket assignee complete their own compliance approval in Jira but even when the assignee is removed from being excluded, it is not taking effect. Can someone direct on how to allow an assignee to complete their own compliance approval? Thank you

@Sitara Kanhai Have you double checked in the approval step within the workflow? Make sure there is nothing selected in the "Exclude approvers from:" field.

@Sitara Kanhai can you share a screenshot of what you're trying to do? Perhaps the workflow or automation in use would be very helpful. Is this a Service project where approvals are natively included? Or have you built an approval status into a Software-type project?
