How to disable "tell us a bit" for new customers

Jason Freeman April 9, 2023

We are a college, and our students are our customers.  The students have SAML SSO logins (just like agents).

On first login, there are questions asking the student what department they work for, among other questions.  This is inappropriate, and students are very confused by being asked questions.

How can this be disabled?  If it cannot be, we may need to cancel our subscription because this is causing too many problems for our students.

Hi @Jason Freeman , welcome to the Atlassian Community.

It's not possible to disable it as its basically onboarding questions for first time login.

Atlassian themselves have provided an official answer in this thread:

https://community.atlassian.com/t5/New-to-Jira-Service-Management/Remove-quot-What-type-of-team-do-you-work-with-quot-when-new/qaq-p/1244023

There is an option to skip but I understand that may not solve your issue as you're looking to remove it entirely.

There is an official ticket open for it but its currently in the gathering interest phase:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-72691

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards,

Ash

That's awful.  So all new customers get this message on every Jira Service Management instance?

It appears to be the case. Hopefully it’s added in the future as more people gather interest on this.

All the best,

Ash

I thought that Jira Service Management was a popular product.  Are few people using it?  This seems like a major oversight.
