How to define a unique key consisting of multiple attributes in Insight

Dirk Ronsmans

So we're building out our Insight CMDB (the new integrated one) and are looking for a way to define a unique key on an object that consists of multiple attributes.

Right now you do have the ability to mark a attribute as Unique but if you do this to multiples, the check when creating something manually will look at each attribute value on it's own.

Our goal is to have multiple attributes as a concatenated key.

e.g.  2 attributes: Domain and Hostname

I would like to have only a single device with the same domain and hostname but accross the domains the hostnames can be duplicate.

Anybody got a clue if I'm missing a setting or if it's just not available?

Hello,

I am relaunching this question with the aim to do the same thing on 2 or more attributes.

Did you  succeed your idea ? If yes, have you done it with the REST API ? And if  yes again, how could you do that with it ?

Sincerely,

Stromos
