How to combine two projects into a single project when one project is from another company?

We've acquired a small company and would to add their cloud based JIRA projects/tickets to our cloud based instance.

I've look through the Atlassian community and I see that there appear to marketplace apps that might help.  I'd like to be able to do it without an app.

To supplement what @Brant Schroeder recommended, you also should conduct the necessary analysis on your acquired company's project setup configurations (i.e. WFs, Fields, Screens schemes) especially if those projects are "Company Managed" project type projects to ensure they confirm with your organization's standards and continue to make your existing site management from being unmanageable.
