How do I specify a field by ID in a field edit in an automation?

We have two fields called Severity so I need to select the field for editing within my automation by its ID number. I am not sure how to do so. Any help appreciated.

Hi Kel,

First, you really should change the name of the field you added. That or add a second context that you can use different values for either different projects or different Issue Types.

Regardless, to get the ID, go to Settings > Issues > Custom Fields

Search for the Severity field. Click the 3 dots menu to the right.

Select Default value and Contexts or Edit

Then look at the URL address in the browser. It will have the ID there.

@Kel Hill You might want to use jira smart values in an automation.
