How do I add sub-tasks to a newly created service request using automation.

Rick Muller January 2, 2024

Each month I would like to create a service request for a group of monthly tasks.  I have been able to trigger the creation of the service request itself, but when I try to add sub-tasks, I receive the message:

Issue type is a sub-task but parent issue key or id not specified. (issuetype)

I have tried the option to use both Current Issue and Trigger Issue as the parent issue for the sub-task, but neither seems to work.  What am I missing?  Is there a way using automation to create a SR, then multiple sub-tasks under that SR?

Hi @Rick Muller

In your automation you need to branch and then create the sub-tasks
