Yesterday our service desk suddenly received multiple email messages all at once, some of them being several days old. Checking the Connectivity log revealed that email pulling had been failing for 16 days straight, with reason "Remote host terminated the handshake". Said remote host is our main Exchange 2019 server, and it has been working fine for us.
Why is it that Jira was not able to connect to it for so long? And how was it resolved with us not doing anything on our side? Was Atlassian's SOCKS proxy overloaded or failing? Email is our main entry point for this service desk, such long and unannounced failure is a major issue. If there is anything we can do on our side, help would be welcome. Otherwise, something should be done on Atlassian's side.
