Design question around Jira Service Management

Hello, I am still finding my feet with Jira. Needing guidance question around JSM. 

The following is a scenario to help describe my question.

Scenario.

• We have currently four projects (Jira Software – Sprints etc)
• We are looking at JSM (Jira Software) for to improved visibility, collaboration across teams etc.

Question.

• Rather than utilising the incumbent projects, with each having their own JSM, should we consider moving away from projects per se and look at JSM and its function 'Services'?
