Creation of a summary value by summing the values of custom fields.

Dear,

I would like the system to overwrite the value of the summary field when a request is created with the sum of the texts in the custom1.custom2.custom3.

Two questions (or more ):

1. is this possible and how to do it?

2. when the customer fills in the form on the customer portal, can I omit the summary field and then create the summary automatically, or does the customer have to enter anything in the summary in order to overwrite the value according to my template after creation?

Kind regards,

Emilia

Hi Emilia,

1. Yes, simply put the smart values for the custom fields in your automation rule;

2. Yes, you can hide the field, but you have to add a preset value, which you'll overwrite afterwards. The customer will see the value after creation, until they refresh the request.

Hi @Emilia KASPRZYK , yes by employing Automation.

  • trigger - issue created
  • action - edit issue and select Summary and use this smartvalue - {{issue.custom1}}.{{issue.custom2}}.{{issue.custom3}}
