Creating a rule to add customers to organizations

Bram Tukker February 18, 2025

Hello.

within my service desk I have an association (Ie. company A) which has customers within it.

I would like customers with the same email domain to be automatically added to the organization when they create an issue.

I'm using the rule builder and are able to say:
When: Issue Created

Reporter is not in "Company A" organization.

But now the action to add to company A organization is something I can't figure out. anyone who can help?

In addition, I only want people from Company A organization and not previously added to the Company A organization to be added.

@Bram Tukker within the JSM Organization settings, you can add an email domain. New customers with these email domains will be automatically added to your organization.

You can read the documentation here: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/use-email-domains-to-automatically-group-customers-into-organizations/

As it states, it only adds new customers, so existing JSM customers from the same domain won't be added

Hi Mathew,

Amazing. Much easier than I thought. Thank you. I'm all set now.
