Creating a Portal Group with Subgroups

Hello community!

I'm wondering how I can create a portal group that contains other groups in my content management system. I would like this main group to act as a parent for several subgroups.

Has anyone here had experience creating such a structure?

  • What are the steps to create a portal group and add subgroups to it?
  • Are there any specific settings I should be aware of during this process?
  • Are there any best practices for managing portal groups and subgroups?

Thank you in advance for any insights and experiences you can share!

Best regards,

Hi @Mikołaj Ogrzywalski

thanks for your question, I really like the concept.

Sadly there is no such option to create subgroups inside Portal groups.
The structure is fixed and can't be modified:

Project Portal --> Group --> Request Type

There might be two workarounds:

1. Create single select fields that work as your "subgroup" and place them on top of the request type form. This will allow you to filter the requests based on the subgroup and offer one more level to the customer

2. use a 3rd Party app like Refined or Theme Extension and build up your custom portal structure.

Hope this helps.

Thank you very much for the response; I will definitely give it a try. ;)

@Kai Becker

Are you able to elaborate further on the first option where you can utilize single select fields? I'm using an IT Service Project and would like to follow an outline show in this screenshot. JIRA Outline.pngThanks!
