Hi,
What happens with regards to the Community Licence for Jira/Confluence when server EOL happens in 2024?
All of the help documentation refers to buying new licences (which has now ceased I beleive) but it's not clear whether the "Renew" action I need to make each year is considered a sold licence, or if the renew function will continue to work as it has done.
NB: It does say on our licence page that we would not be able to buy a new licence one however the renew function did work.
Hey @daveywhyte ,
Renewals are still possible up to february 2024 at which time the maintenance stops. Normally since it's a server edition you'll still be able to use your instance but you won't be entitled to any support or upgrades anymore.
The normal route would be to switch to Datacenter if you need to stay on premise.
That also has a community license are you can read in the above post and can be requested at https://www.atlassian.com/software/views/community-license-request
Keep in mind the rules regarding community licenses have changed too so hopefully you still qualify. If the information is unclear you could always raise a support request (billing i'd say) at https://support.atlassian.com/contact
Hi @Dirk Ronsmans,
I assumed that on renewal date if i didn't renew the server would refuse to operate until a new key was provided.
Unfortunately reading the new Community Licence information I think the changes do indeed exclude us.
Thanks for your help.
