Comments disappearing in tasks

Random comments on my tasks from other people are turning up as blank. If I refresh the page then I can see the comment for a second before it goes blank again.

Has anyone else experienced this and is there a way to solve it?

Per your description, I believe that the affected comments are being restricted to a specific group or role, as displayed in the screenshot below:

I suggest contacting the comment author and checking if any restriction is added to the comment, so you can confirm what group/role is missing for your user.
