Change language of an account

Hennie Bink December 5, 2024

Hi!

I'm a Jira admin and one of the Jira users/accounts ask me to change the language of her Jira.

Can anyone tell me how to change the language of this user? (Or send me the link to the Jira-documentation with instructions)

I find the account/user in managed acoounts. I can change details like name/e-mail/function and product access but there is no language setting there.

Thanks i.a.!

Hi Hennie!  Welcome to the community.   It's my understanding that the user is able to change their own language settings in their User Profile.

Are they able to execute these steps?

  1. Go to your avatar > Profile.
  2. Select Manage your account.
  3. Select Account preferences.
  4. From Language, select your language.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, Dan!

I conclude that it's not possible that I, as an admin, can change the language for the user.

The interface of the user had a (for us) unreadable language, thats why I ask how I can change the language for the user from my admin-tools.

But it's not there. It should be a nice feature that we, as admins, can manage more user settings like the language :-).

For now we managed to change the language of the user with her own profile settings. So problem is solved :-)
