Can you refer to a user timezone in automation

Steven Lees-Smith April 19, 2022

Hi there,

I am sure I am doing this wrong, but I am trying to set up ticket routing and thought to use timezone.

I am trying to use the JQL condition but not sure what to put in as the value

user.timeZone =

timeZone =

reporter.timeZone =

but I am not getting a working end result.

Thanks all.

Hi @Steven Lees-Smith ,

I don't think you can do this with JQL, but with a compare on the smart value {{assignee.timeZone}}  in an automation rule, this should work.

If you are not sure what the smart value gives back, add it as a log action so you know what to work with.

There is a feature request here to add it to JQL. You can vote / watch to stay up to date.

Hope this helps!

yeh I tried that with {{reporter.timeZone}} and it just didn't trigger anything.

Hi Steven,

could you share a screenshot of your rule?
