Hello! We're rebuilding our asset management system from scratch using Jira Assets, and I wanted to get the community's opinion on something.
The scenario is this: A user submits a request for a WidgetSystem (WS). Once the WS has been reviewed by risk, legal, data protection, etc. and approved, the user signs the contract with the WS. Then, we want them to put information in assets beyond what was in the original request (date of review, etc.). What's the best way for users to add their objects in Assets?
So far, we've come up with a csv file in an editable place (GDrive) that then gets uploaded to Assets once a month with all of that month's new additions and direct entry into Assets. I had hoped there was some way to create a form for them to fill out that would generate an asset, but haven't looked into it. Does anyone have any other suggestions or solutions they use?
Hi @Lana Kelly ,
You know you can both create and edit objects via Jira automations?
So if the user fill in a Jira request form you can use that data to create the object and fill the object attributes from whatever the user inputs in the Jira form.
all the best
Lisa
