Assign Group

Raymart Cruz November 22, 2022

Scenario

Group: Coral - SME

Member: Raymart Cruz, Bryan Tito

Is it possible to filter the assignee within the group members only? Based on the picture, a member is shown who is not included in the group. Also, when you type in the search box manually, you can add any person in the assignee portion.

Hi @Raymart Cruz

The assignee field will show every person who has the "Assignable user" permission in the permission scheme attached to this project. To restrict the assignees to just one group, you'd need to change your permission scheme and restrict the "Assignable user" permission to only the group you want.

If you wanted to restrict this even more to a "per-issue" level, you would need to create issue security scheme but that would be really hard to maintain.

Hope this helps.

Have a nice day

Hi @[deleted] ,

Can you show me some examples and where can I configure that?

Thank you

First, you need to create a group in JSM.

Click the cog icon at the top right corner and choose "User management"

Then choose "Groups" on the left menu and create a new group. You can then add members top this group :

After that, back to the cog icon and in the "Issues" menu

At the bottom of the left menu, "Permission schemes" and find the permission scheme associated with your project

Find the "Assignable user" permission. Remove at the right will let you remove permissions already granted. Update will let you add permission. You'll be able tyo choose groups and select the group.
