Add fields to the View Issue screen for customers

Valerie Stoppenbach February 18, 2022

Our customers see 3 fields from the View Issue screen:

  • Status

  • Request Type

  • Shared with

I want to share the Sprint field on this screen, so customers can see how many weeks ahead an issue is queued for.

When a field is added to the request form, it DOES show on the View screen. However, the field I want (Sprint) is one that the customer should never edit - only view. Is it possible to add this field to the View Issue screen without adding it to the request form?

Hi @Valerie Stoppenbach ,

there's an open issue in order to allow admins to add custom fields on the portal issue view (https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSDCLOUD-4328 )

Btw, there is an app that implement that feature https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1212161/extension-for-jira-service-desk?hosting=cloud&tab=overview (in particular sprint field is supported as specified here https://deviniti.com/support/addon/cloud/extension/latest/display-additional-details/)

Hope this helps,

Fabio

Thanks @Fabio Racobaldo _Herzum_ I've added my vote to the open issue you sent. You've confirmed that this feature isn't yet offered, so we will look into apps in the meantime.

It's ironic you shared that extension by Deviniti. Our team discussed cloud pricing yesterday for the same exact one. This cleared up a lot - I appreciate your help!

Create a new screen and associate it with the view issue operation.
