I am trying to add a column to a report that shows last comment posted in story, does anyone know what it falls under as a column
@Paul Boyd Welcome to the Atlassian community
Here is an old article that explains how to do this. https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Marketplace-Apps-Integrations/How-to-display-Last-comment-in-Filter-JQL-and-any-Add-on/ba-p/1489153
newer article here (2022): https://community.atlassian.com/t5/App-Central/How-to-get-last-comment-in-filter-or-JQL/ba-p/2066357

Hi @Paul Boyd ,
I don't think you can show the last comment as a column by default.
Your best workaround would be to create a custom field 'Last Comment' and fill it with an automation rule, as explained here https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Marketplace-Apps-Integrations/How-to-display-Last-comment-in-Filter-JQL-and-any-Add-on/ba-p/1489153
There are also some apps in the marketplace that provide this functionality.
Best regards,
Kris

Hi @Paul Boyd
welcome to the community! If you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, this would be easy to do using the app that my team and I are working on, JXL for Jira.
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. It also comes with a number of so-called "smart columns" that aren’t natively available, including the last comment (along with many other comment-related data).
This is how it looks in action:
You can also use the last comment across JXL's advanced features - such as support for (configurable) issue hierarchies, issue grouping, sum-ups, or conditional formatting - and "inline-add" new comments either to individual issues or in bulk, via copy/paste.
This all "just works", so there's no scripting or automation whatsoever required.
Any questions just let me know,
Best,
Hannes
