📣 Early Access Program for Jira Service Management- All fields available in request types page

Hello everyone!

We have an upcoming release of a new request type configuration experience in Jira Service Management, and we’d like to invite you to join a limited Early Access Program!

With this new experience, when configuring a request type, admins will be able to:

  • View all fields on their instance under Fields

  • Easily drag and drop any field into the request type

We’re launching this as part of a larger mission to make it easier and more intuitive to configure request types and custom fields. It doesn’t matter if you have 50, 500 or 5,000 fields, you will be able to access all of them on the right hand panel.

What’s involved in this?

After signing up, you’ll have early access to this functionality, so you can try it out and also have an opportunity to provide feedback that will help shape the future of the configuration experience.

Who are we looking for?

Jira admins who configure Jira Service Management

How do I sign up?

If you would like to be a part of this program, please click on this link to sign up

Please note that it will take a few days before you get access. We will let you know once the feature has been enabled for your instance.

Let us know if you have any questions at all. We’re looking forward to working with you!

Best regards,

Jehan Gonsalkorale

Hello @Jehan Gonsalkorale

Nice improvement!

What if a field is not configured in scope of the project / issue type we're trying to add it to.
A new context will be created on that field?

Christophe

Hi @Christophe Promé ,

That's a very good question. This feature only works when the field has a valid context and is not hidden (via a field configuration).

The reason for this is that most of the customers that use those features are highly experienced Jira admins and many use contexts to hide fields from certain projects (similarly to screens) and we don't want to break that logic.

Please sign up for early access, we'd love to get your feedback.

Thanks,

Jehan

So happy about these new Early Access features. It really fixes a lot of the administrative work related to Service projects.

Both the team-manage projects and this easier Request type creation can put the burden of creating/tweaking Service projects into power users hands, instead of requiring admin assistance.

Super excited!
