I updated the 'Reporter' of an Helpdesk issue to the actual customer who is registered under their own organization as a user. It allowed me to update this value. I have added the organization value of the issue to the client organization as well. I have two issues now:
1. The user still cant see the issue from the portal. Even though they are in the same organization and assigned to the user. When i check all open issues under organization i cant find the issue either.
2. The user is not receiving any notifications. Not even the @mentions.
Can someone please help urgently. This is a major issue for us as customers are not responding and resulting us in resorting back to outlook emails and phone calls. Because it looks like we are not getting back to the customers on their queries.

This is a known JIRA Helpdesk limitation.
