Is it possible to record photos/videos in the mobile app and attach them to an existing jira case?

Edited

Is it possible to record photos/videos in the mobile app and attach them to an existing jira case? When photos/videos are to be attached to a jira case you:

  1. Record the photo/video with the mobile phone.
  2. Attach it to a an e-mail.
  3. Send it to your e-mail account (or connects your phone to the pc and downloads photo/video)
  4. Open it up in your pc
  5. Store it locally
  6. Log into jira
  7. Identify the jira case you would like to upload photo / video to
  8. Upload it

Alternative process only using the phone:

  1. Identify the jira case where you would like to store photo / video (or create a new one directly in the mobile app)
  2. Click on icon that connects camera to a jira case directly. Record video / photo directly into the case. Done
  3. An alternative would be to store the photo / video locally at your phone and then come up with a convenient process to smoothly attach photo / video to the jira case.

An easier process would be to do everything from inside the phone, thus removing a lot of steps and admin time, which I tried to describe in the latter three steps above. This would surely save a lot of time and make it easier for persons to come up with a good Description (or problem statement). One image is equivalent to 1000 words in terms of description of a problem. This woulds allow persons that are less professional in writing to describe a problem. Even better to record a video with sound and upload it directly to the case.

Yes you can!

For both Jira Cloud iOS and Android, just go ahead and attach files, images, videos to the Jira issue (or case) and it'll update on web. You can do this in your phone, tablet or any device that supports iOS and Android.

For Jira Cloud Android we actually have a dedicated screen recording feature: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Mobile-Apps-articles/New-feature-Record-your-screen-in-real-time-with-Jira-Cloud-on/ba-p/1335231

We're still exploring how we could bring a dedicated screen recording feature within Jira Cloud iOS. For the time being you can record via the iOS native screen recorder and then attach the recording to the Jira issue.

Hi , you could also try Nexonic Artify mobile apps (both IOS and android) -- this app allows screen recording and natively upload recorded video to a JIRA ticket (search or create)

on Top user can annotate a uploaded video with in their JIRA cloud plugin - please find details here

Please let us know if you need any further details -- thanks

And what about jira data center?

Thanks
